I’m on The Craig Fahle Show!
I’m Detroit famous. I was on The Craig Fahle Show on WDET — the local NPR channel — talking about what it takes to fix up these old Detroit houses.
Hear the whole discussion below, which also features Drew Philip, who recently wrote the BuzzFeed article titled “Why I Bought a House in Detroit for $500.” He’s doing all the work himself, so we offer a nice point-counterpoint of the Detroit rehab world.
(Here’s my Crain’s blog post on the topic, with a bit more detail, if you’re interested.)
It’s also time for a status update, so I’ll be posting pics and more this evening. I can’t believe it’s been almost two months since we moved in — and since I last blogged.
In fact, the last post was from Stacy, talking about her visit to Matilda. She’s back this weekend; maybe I’ll make her write another post about her impressions on what has/hasn’t changed.
