Weekly Photo Update – And We Cut the First Check
We just wrote the first big check for the renovations of Matilda. A check for just more than $36,000. That’s a check so big it’s the equivalent of nine-months of take-home pay. Now I’m wondering which nine months of my career I would like to attribute to Matilda’s new framing and demolition. Would those be good months or bad months in the accounting column? My tenure at Gotham and Hamptons magazine (rough days) or my Knight-Wallace Fellowship months at UMich (good ones)?
The good news is that progress is zipping along. So here are the weekly status photos. I didn’t get one today of the giant gaping hole that was once our back wall. You can straight through the house.
New doorway to the living room because we are installing a powder room on the first floor and had to cheat some space from the living room.

Our contractor’s gift to Karl. He removed the header on the stairs to the basement so he won’t bang his head anymore!
