Waltzing Matilda
Hello, this is Karl chiming in.
About the name Matilda: The night before we closed on the house, we were trying to think of a name for the house – I convinced Amy to name it Matilda after playing “Waltzing Matilda” (Tom Waits) for her. I could think of no better name for this stately old house than one inspired by Waits’ beautiful ballad. Listening to Tom Waits – this song in particular – you have the feeling that he understands immensely the things we go through in life. Like the huge amount of work and worry we are about to devote to this house.
I leave you in the good hands of Tom Waits.
